Around 25,000 households in Queensland's southeast were left experiencing outages on Monday morning after intense storm systems swept through the area, bringing powerful gusts reaching over 100 km/h.

Large Ice Stones and Broad Damage

Locals reported large ice chunks as large as seven centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that different parts across the state had been affected by significant hail.

State Emergency Services handled nearly 600 emergency reports across the area, mainly for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and water accumulation.

Damp conditions were predicted to continue along much of the state's eastern regions this week as a atmospheric system continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.

The following day was predicted as the wettest day, with persistent thunderstorm potential predicted across multiple regions of both areas.
